Post Some praise & an amusing story...
Over that last few months since I bought Recabinet I have been auditioning all the recommended free cab IR that I have. When I mentioned to a few folks that I had bought your complete collection of cab IR they called me nuts, wasted my money, yada yada yada....

So, in side by side comparisons I chose, to MY ear, the best sounding free IR I had in my collection. There are a few from the le Châtelet & Beamsonic that stand up to Recabinet, but not many....AND they are only one dimensional in that the mic is facing straight on the cone AFAIK.

SO....using the Simulanalog Marshall & Fender amp sims, and running Recabinet thru Voxengo Boogex, I laid some basic rhythm tracks for a few folks original tracks. I used 1 IR from each of the ones mentioned above, and 1 from the Recabinet collection, trying my best to keep them as similar as possible. I then sent them to the folks I am working with as separate tracks and asked them to decided which one they liked better.

I just did this over the last 2 weeks but so far out of 7 tracks I done, 4 selected the Recabinet tracks over the others with 3 still making their choices. The main reason? The track sounds much fuller & more realistic...... :o

Did I mention that these are the same folks that dogged me about paying for cab IR? One thinks I mic'd up an amp!

Anyway, I just wanted to drop in and let you know that your product is great, and I am totally happy with it! 8-)

That is a killer shoot-out and testimonial, thanks for doing that!

Absolutely no problem! I am still getting use to "layering" the IR, but overall even the single IR from your product can stand up to any of the hobbyist - home recorded mic'd up amps I have heard all over the net, to MY ear! :D

This is by far one of the top investments I have made that last few years for sure. Thank YOU for the great product! 8-)

How did you do that if the Simulanalog amp sim doesn't have a cab bypass! It is always on!

Saludos!

Hey Pennywise, that did not concern me for this test. Every cab sim was run the same way, using the same head, so it was 100% even across the board.

It was not like I used a preamp on one set, the Fender on another, etc.....The tracks were played, ran thru each cab sim, and sent away! :D

Plus, I was digging the sounds, so if it sounds right, it is right! 8-)
